Biography
Nicholas Schaub, Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #159459, provides comprehensive, client-focused psychotherapy to individuals, teens, and couples seeking support and personal development. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurship, as well as his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (Marriage and Family Therapy emphasis), from California Lutheran University.
Having spent significant parts of his life in Thailand, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Nicholas identifies as a third-culture individual. He brings a strong multicultural perspective to his work. This international upbringing enhances his cultural sensitivity and enables him to work effectively with clients from diverse identities and backgrounds.
Nicholas completed his clinical traineeship serving Ventura County residents, where he provided therapeutic services across a broad range of ages and presenting concerns. His work is guided by attachment-based principles and incorporates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused interventions to create individualized treatment plans that address each client’s specific goals.
In addition to his clinical specialties, Nicholas is committed to increasing mental health access for men and reducing stigma associated with help-seeking. He maintains a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where all clients can feel safe to express themselves.
Nicholas offers therapy in person and via telehealth at the Avedian Counseling Center in Sherman Oaks and Woodland Hills. He practices under the supervision of Chrys Gkotsi, LMFT, and remains dedicated to helping clients process emotions, build insight, and achieve sustainable, long-term change.
