Ani Ishkhanian LMFT# 163436

Ani Ishkhanian is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who believes therapy is a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. She works with individuals, couples, and families who are trying to manage anxiety, trauma, and stress, and who are having difficulty coping. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. She recognizes that our experiences are unique and shaped by many factors, including culture, family, community, and the expectations we have learned to carry.

Ani IshkhanianAni’s goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your experiences and the patterns that may be contributing to your distress. Therapy can help you build healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions and stressors while honoring your values, relationships, and sense of self.

Ani earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Her therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative and draws from an integrative approach that includes CBT, DBT, ACT, relational therapy, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed. She aims to create a space where you can explore difficult experiences openly, including parts of yourself or your relationships that may feel complicated, without having to choose between honoring where you come from and making changes that support your well-being.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Ani hopes to provide a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you have been carrying, and develop greater awareness, balance, and choice in how you move through your life and relationships.

Ms. Ishkhanian joined the Avedian Counseling Center team in 2026, offering in-person therapy at the Sherman Oaks and Woodland Hills locations, as well as telehealth services.
