Payment

Cash, check and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.
Cash or checks can be collected at the time of your therapy service. Credit card payments need to be made at the same day of your therapy session.

Billing
Anita Avedian’s standard fee for counseling is $200 per 50-minute session, unless otherwise agreed upon. All fees are payable at the time of service unless other arrangements are agreed upon in advance.  A detailed invoice of charges can be obtained for the purpose of submitting to an insurance carrier or other third party payer for reimbursement.  There will be no fee for this service on current bills, however an outstanding account may be charged a $5.00 service fee for each statement.  Past due accounts may be additionally subjected to interest charges of 5% per month if a balance is neglected for more than 30 days.  In the case of a third party payer, the client is fully responsible for all charges not covered by insurance.  If the balance is past due 90 days, it is subject to go to collections.
A $20.00 service charge will be charged for any checks returned for any reason for special handling.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you.  If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.

For clients who wish to maintain their privacy, or who are unable to travel to the office, Anita offers house visits at her sole discretion. Home visits are reserved for counseling sessions lasting 90-minutes or longer. Contact Anita for further information.

Intern home visits are based on counselor discretion. Please contact your therapist ahead of time to discuss specialized treatment plans and prices.
Please remember to cancel or reschedule your therapy session 24 hours in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours. The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 50 minutes. It is up to you, however, to determine the length of your counseling session time. Requests to change the 50-minute therapy session needs to be discussed with the therapist in order for time to be scheduled in advance.

Insurance
If you plan to use insurance for the therapy sessions, please check your coverage carefully by asking your insurance company the following questions:

• Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
• What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
• How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover for parity versus non-parity diagnosis?
• What is the coverage amount per therapy session for parity versus non-parity diagnosis?
• Is pre-approval required from my primary care physician?
• Where do claims get sent?
